The Competent Toastmaster Award

To receive the Competent Toastmaster Award, a member in good standing of a club in good standing must complete all ten projects in the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership Program, fill out the Project Completion Record on page 56 with the Vice President Education's initials (by another club officer if the member is the Vice President Education), and complete the Competent Toastmaster Award Application on page 55.

The following are the ten projects from the Communication and Leadership Program:

1. The Ice Breaker
2. Organize Your Speech
3. Get To The Point
4. How To Say It
5. Your Body Speaks
6. Vocal Variety
7. Research Your Topic
8. Get Comfortable With Visual Aids
9. Persuade With Power
10. Inspire Your Audience

For more information on the ten project objectives, click here (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Once you've received your CTM Award (see below), you may choose any two of the fifteen Advanced Communication and Leadership Programs free of charge. Click here for more information about the Advanced C & L Programs.

CTM recipients may move on to either the Communication Track, the Leadership Track, or both. The Communication Track's next award is the Advanced Toastmaster Bronze (click here for more information). The Leadership Track's next award is the Competent Leader (click here for more information).

This is your first milestone! After Toastmasters International World Headquarters has received all your forms, you will receive a certificate like the one below. You may opt to have TI send your employer a letter of commendation.
