To earn the Competent Leader award, a member in good standing of a club in good standing must complete all the following:
Earn the Competent Toastmaster (CTM) Award (click here for
details on the advanced C & L Programs);
Serve at least six months as a Club officer;
Particiate in the preparation of a Club Success Plan
while serving in office;
While a Club officer, participate in a District-sponsored
Club officer training program;
Conduct any two programs from The Successful Club
Series or The Leadership Excellence Series.
Fill out the Leadership/Distinguished Toastmaster Awards Application (available from your Club's Vice President Education or President), have it signed by the Club's Vice President Education (or by another Club officer if you are the Vice President Education), and send it to Toastmasters International World Headquarters.
Once you've received your CL award (see below), the Leadership Track's next awards are the High Performance Leadership (click here for more information about HPL) and the Advanced Leader awards (click here for more information about the AL).
After Toastmasters International World Headquarters has received all your forms, you will receive a certificate like the one below. You may opt to have TI send your employer a letter of commendation.
